President Joe Biden will address the nation from the White House on Wednesday evening, his first national address since announcing Sunday that he will not seek re-election.

Biden officially withdrew from the Democratic nomination race over the weekend and endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris as his successor. Harris quickly secured enough delegates to the Democratic National Committee to become the presumptive Democratic nominee.

The president has been in isolation at his Delaware vacation home this week after testing positive for COVID-19. He has since tested negative for the virus.

Biden has said he will stay in office through the 2024 election.

Biden’s speech is expected to begin at 8 p.m. Eastern Time and he will address the nation from the Oval Office in the White House.

In a message on X, Biden said his speech will talk about “what the future holds and how he will get the job done for the American people.”
