Two Rivers City Council Approves Parking Ban on Jefferson Street

Here’s your latest Watchdog Wednesday report.

MANITOWOC – Parking on Jefferson Street in Two Rivers is limited.

The City Council has approved an ordinance that creates a no-parking zone on the east side of Jefferson Street, between 22nd and 23rd Streets.

Matthew Heckenlaible, Two Rivers Public Works Director, said large vehicles and trailers are often parked in that block, creating an obstacle for emergency and public works vehicles trying to access the already narrow road.

He also said that citizens have reported children running into the street without warning because they could not be seen due to large vehicles and trailers parked on the street.
