(FOX40.COM) — Stockton residents have the opportunity to voice their opinions on the naming of three new city parks, according to the city of Stockton.

The three parks are located at:
• Corner of Westlake and Scott Creek Drives
• Valens Way and Orbison Lane
• Parliament Street and Skynard Way

The city is looking for names that honor people who have served the Stockton community for more than 25 years, that reflect the topography of the area or that convey a historical element of the city.

Residents have until 5:30 p.m. on September 30 to submit their name suggestions before they are forwarded to a naming committee.

The committee will consist of members from various commissions, boards and departments within the city.

Once the committee has reviewed the names, they will forward their recommendations to Stockton City Council. To submit a proposed park name, click here.
