MD Man Charged With Brandishing Gun During Road Rage Argument On I-97

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD — A Maryland man is facing weapons possession and assault charges after a traffic altercation in Anne Arundel County, state police said.

Reginald Johnson, 37, of Gwynn Oak, was charged with aggravated assault, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and other related offenses following the July 17 incident on Interstate 97.

According to state police, Johnson was arrested after someone alerted authorities and claimed he had pulled a gun during a traffic altercation near Interstate 895.

Police have not released further details about the incident.

Johnson was arrested Wednesday. Authorities also said they found a loaded gun in the vehicle he was driving before he was arrested.

Johnson is currently being held without bail in the Anne Arundel County Detention Center. He faces a mandatory five-year prison sentence if convicted.
