QB who made Broncos shine in 2023 season just signed huge contract

The Denver Broncos were held to 70 points by the Miami Dolphins during the 2023 NFL season, and their QB just signed a mega extension. Perhaps one of the worst defensive performances in all of sports came early in the 2023 NFL season. The Denver Broncos traveled to Miami to take on the Dolphins, and they were held to 70 points.

And it’s still something hanging over their heads. Well, their QB, Tua Tagovailoa, just signed a mega contract extension with the team. The deal is worth $212.4 million over four seasons, which works out to over $53 million per season.

That puts Tagovailoa at the top of the QB market, as he’s yet another passer to sign a big deal this offseason. The Green Bay Packers’ Jordan Love, who the Broncos punished early in the 2023 NFL season, could be the next to sign a big deal.

The Denver Broncos are one of several teams in the NFL that have a QB on a rookie deal in Bo Nix. Zach Wilson is also on his rookie deal, and their last QB, Jarrett Stidham, is in the final year of a $10 million free agency deal.

During the Dolphins’ 70-point drubbing, Tua Tagovailoa threw for 309 yards and four touchdowns on 23/26 passing. His 155.8 passing rating was the highest in a single game of his 2023 season, a year in which he led the NFL in passing yards and threw 29 touchdown passes.

Ideally, the Denver Broncos are getting ready to make Bo Nix one of the highest paid, possibly the highest paid QB in NFL history within a few years. We’re still a long way from that point, but you never know. The Dolphins stuck with Tagovailoa all these years, and now they have their franchise QB locked in for the long haul.
