Cooling trend – KION546

Temperatures will cool over the weekend as the large monsoon high moves further away from our area. Troughs along the west coast will reinforce the cooling trend, bringing a cooler air mass aloft and a deeper ocean layer. As the ocean layer deepens Friday into Saturday, we could see some drizzle.

AIR QUALITY: Good to moderate

Friday: Partly to mostly cloudy along the coast with highs in the upper 60s to low 70s and mostly sunny inland with highs ranging from the upper 70s to around 102ºF. Windy in the valleys late in the day. Low clouds will thicken and push inland late.

Overnight stay: Cloudy on the coast and mostly cloudy in the inland valleys. Locally drizzle around the bay. Mist in the hills. Lows in the 50s for the coast and inland valleys with a few degrees in the clear, higher valleys.

Saturday: Partly to mostly cloudy on the coast with highs around 60 degrees and mostly sunny inland with highs ranging from 70 to 90 degrees. Windy in the valleys at the end of the day.

Extended: Temperatures will remain cooler with coastal clouds this weekend. High pressure will then slowly build back up next week, bringing temperatures back up. We will likely see another sip of monsoon moisture, bringing at least some mid to high altitude clouds from Tuesday.
