The $220 million deal is a four-year contract extension with $155 million guaranteed and an NFL-record $75 million signing bonus. Along with Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow, Love becomes the highest-paid QB in NFL history based on average annual value, both at $55 million per season.

Multiple Packers fans at training camp had said they hoped a deal would be reached soon. Love had sat out of practices during negotiations and it is unclear how the team will bring him back for preseason.
