‘1923’ Season 2 gets a remarkable update! Here’s what you need to know

  • This actress is gearing up to travel back in time! Janet Montgomery has officially joined the cast of Paramount+’s drama “1923” for its upcoming second season. Montgomery will play a recurring character named Hillary, who is described as a thoughtful woman with a strong sense of justice.

“1923” is a prequel to the hit Neo-Western drama “Yellowstone” and takes us back a century to follow the Dutton family. Much like their descendants in “Yellowstone,” the Duttons of “1923” face the challenges of running a ranch in Montana. However, they also deal with historical hardships like Prohibition laws, a severe drought, and the early days of the Great Depression. The Dutton family’s saga is explored further in other “Yellowstone” prequels and spinoffs, such as “1883,” and upcoming shows “1944,” “6666,” and “2024.”

Joining the “1923” cast means Montgomery will be working alongside big names like Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren, who play Jacob and Cara Dutton. The first season also featured actors like Brandon Sklenar as their nephew Spencer, Jerome Flynn as the antagonist Banner Creighton, and Isabel May as the narrator Elsa Dutton, who also appeared in “1883.” Besides Montgomery, Season 2 will see the addition of Jennifer Carpenter, known for her role in “Dexter,” who will play a tough US Deputy Marshal named Mamie Fossett.

What Do We Know About ‘1923’ Season 2?

Despite some recent casting news, there’s not much information available about the upcoming season of this “Yellowstone” spinoff. Paramount+ renewed “1923” for a second season before the first season even concluded, but the 2023 Writers’ Guild of America Strike caused some delays in production. The new season doesn’t have an official premiere date yet, so fans are eagerly waiting to see when they can catch up with their favorite characters at the Dutton family ranch again.
