What’s the talk about Beth Phoenix possibly joining AEW now that she’s no longer under contract with WWE?

This week, fans noticed that Beth Phoenix’s WWE.com profile has been removed from the active roster section and moved to the alumni section of the site. PWInsider.com’s Mike Johnson confirmed with multiple sources that Beth is no longer under contract with WWE. Beth last appeared on WWE television in 2023 and has not been active since her husband Adam Copeland signed with AEW.

Fightful.com noted that those spoken to say Beth is in “great shape” and could likely wrestle again if that’s something she wants to do. While the topic of Beth working for AEW was reportedly broached backstage, there’s no word on whether the two parties have had any discussions. There’s some belief that if Beth were to appear for AEW, it would happen once Copeland returns from his injury.

Beth’s voice says “you think you know him” at the beginning of Copeland’s theme. After debuting with AEW at the 2023 WrestleDream PPV, Copeland had this to say about Beth potentially joining him in AEW…

“Every time I get close to Beth, I get super excited about it, of course. I don’t know if that’s going to be possible in the near future. I love being with her, of course, and we’ve had a great time working together. Where she plays a major role without anyone knowing, she’s my sounding board. If you see me do something that you think works, it’s always been communicated by Beth and she always gives me better ideas back.”
