Man charged with attempted murder after shooting

A West Yorkshire man has been charged with attempted murder and weapons possession after a vehicle was damaged in a shooting.

Patson Mafaune, 25, of Servia Drive, Leeds, appeared in Leeds Crown Court on Saturday.

He was charged in connection with West Yorkshire Police’s investigation into a shooting which caused damage to a vehicle on Burley Road, Leeds, at around 5.10pm (BST) on Thursday.

There were no injuries and police are asking anyone with information to get in touch.

Another 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in police custody.

A 23-year-old man was also arrested on Thursday in connection with the firing of firearms, but he has been released on bail by police.
