Vice President Kamala Harris to visit Pittsfield Massachusetts on Saturday – NBC Boston

Vice President Kamala Harris is expected to attend a rally in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, on Saturday.

According to the event page, there will be performances by James Taylor, Yo-Yo Ma and Emanuel Ax.

The City of Pittsfield has issued a traffic advisory with detours in place in the downtown area during the event.

“Motorists should also expect delays in the city centre and consider alternative routes. Parking restrictions will also be in place. Residents, visitors and event goers should be aware of these temporary closures when travelling,” the city wrote on social media.

This comes after former President Barack Obama on Friday endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for president, just days after she launched her campaign following President Joe Biden’s withdrawal from the race.

“Michelle and I are incredibly proud to support you and do everything we can to get you through this election and into the White House,” Obama said in a video showing Harris receiving a phone call from the Obamas.

Michelle Obama says in the roughly one-minute video: “I can’t make this phone call without telling my girl Kamala, I’m proud of you. This is going to be historic.”
