Son of NBA legend has Ohio State basketball in last six schools

The Ohio State basketball program is rebuilding itself. Jake Diebler knows that missing the NCAA Tournament is unacceptable. They have done it the last two seasons. That is why Chris Holtmann is no longer the head coach and Diebler is the man.

Ohio State has too many athletic resources to allow this to happen on a regular basis. Its facilities are too good, its tradition is too legendary, and its roster of talent is too good. But Diebler wants more. He doesn’t just want to play in the NCAA tournament. He wants to make it to the Final Fours.

To do that, they need to increase the amount of talent they have. While the talent is solid now, it’s not Final Four-caliber. The Buckeyes are on the radar of someone who has Final Four talent because he’s the son of an NBA legend and a future Hall of Famer.

Kiyan Anthony, son of Carmelo Anthony, has revealed his final six schools. The Buckeyes made the cut. He has Ohio State, Florida State, Auburn, Syracuse, Rutgers and USC. As you can see, there is no geographic region he is married to. Anthony just wants the best fit.

Anthony is a four-star shooting guard from Long Island with a great shooting stroke. At 6’5″, he also has the ideal height for the position and with his length, he should be a good defender. He is exactly the kind of player Diebler is looking for to improve the Ohio State basketball team.

Anthony is planning a visit to Columbus to tour the campus and learn what his role would be at Ohio State. Right now, Diebler only has one recruit for the 2025 recruiting class. Adding Anthony would really help them build the top talent they want consistently.
