Police and Hyundai host free upgrade event for steering wheel lock and anti-theft software

The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) and Hyundai are hosting a free anti-theft software upgrade event from August 2-4 at Paint Branch High School (14121 Old Columbia) in Burtonsville.

Open to owners and leasers of 2011-2021 Hyundai vehicles, this event offers free software solutions to prevent a theft method that has become popular on social media. No appointment or ID is required and participation is free. Additionally, all Hyundai owners will receive a free steering wheel lock.

The event will take place on Friday, August 2 from 8am to 6pm, Saturday, August 3 from 8am to 6pm, and Sunday, August 4 from 8am to 2pm.
