Virtus Bologna welcomes seventh new player, Rayjon Tucker

To complete its roster for the 2024-25 season, Virtus Segafredo Bologna has added 26-year-old shooting guard Rayjon Tucker.

Tucker was added to the selection as the seventh player during the off-season, following Nicola Akele, Will Clyburn, Mouhamet Diouf, Andrejs Grazulis, Matt Morgan and Riccardo Visconti.

After making his debut in the BKT EuroCup with Umana Reyer Venice, Tucker was upgraded to the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague. He averaged 14.9 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game in 17 appearances, all as a starter, in the second division of Euroleague Basketball, earning a shot at the top division. At the national level, he was named to the Dream Team of the Year after averaging 14.4 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 40 appearances in the Italian LBA UnipolSai and Frecciarossa Final Eight.

Before exercising overseas options in 2022 and moving to Melbourne United of the Oceania National Basketball League, NBL, the Charlotte native played 50 games in the NBA, splitting time with the Milwaukee Bucks, Philadelphia 76ers, Utah Jazz and Denver Nuggets. Short stints with limited NBA playing time at G League outfits Wisconsin Herd, Delaware Blue Coats and Salt Lake City Stars provided other stops and larger roles between 2019 and 2022. He went undrafted in 2019 after playing one NCAA season with Little Rock. He spent two years with Florida Gulf Coast from 2015 to 2017.

At the international level, Tucker reached two games of the 2023 FIBA ​​World Cup Qualifiers with the United States.
