LSU Football is looking for recruiting opportunities and is trending for several targets

LSU is in pole position for a number of targets on their Big Board and after a major 24-hour recruiting spree, their efforts could soon pay off.

Brian Kelly and Co. held their annual Bayou Splash recruiting event on Friday, with more than 30 candidates coming to Baton Rouge for the invitation-only event.

Now the dust is beginning to settle and the program is putting pressure on several players on their radar.

Who is LSU trending for? What’s the buzz on Friday? Who was in town?

The Bayou Splash overview:

LSU Trending… Three targets on their radar

Aidan Anding: No. 2 cornerback in Louisiana (2025)

Anding, Bayou State’s second-best cornerback, has been a potential player on LSU’s radar in recent months after recruiting guru Frank Wilson extended him an offer in June.

The 6-foot-1, 165-pound player was expected to announce his commitment to the university in late June, but after receiving an offer from LSU, he decided to push back his commitment date.

Anding, one of Louisiana’s top athletes, has earned All-State honors in football, basketball and track. A true phenomenon, LSU is ramping up the push with significant buzz for another SEC program.

The Texas Longhorns had all the momentum this summer with Steve Sarkisian and Co. leading the charge to land Anding, but now the hometown program has stepped up its game.

LSU Tigers On SI will likely make a prediction that the Tigers win here because of Anding’s services once the Tigers get him on campus on Friday.

We’ve already seen On3 Sports recruiting expert Billy Embody make a prediction in LSU’s favor as they look to sign Louisiana’s star player.

LSU currently has a commitment from Jaboree Antoine (who committed to Miami on Saturday), but they will be ramping up the pressure in hopes of winning his pledge back.

Kelly and co. will attempt to reshape the secondary in the coming months. With the signing of America’s best cornerback (DJ Pickett), LSU appears to be headed in the right direction.

YesMichael Garrett: Top 10 Linebacker in America

One name to keep an eye on is that of a Gulf Shores (Ala.) resident. YesMichael Garrett.

The 2026 four-star linebacker has seen his recruit status skyrocket in recent months after cracking the Top 150 in the recent update.

Garrett is one of the top 10 linebackers in America and the top of college football is interested in him. But after he narrows down his list, LSU and Auburn are his finalists.

On Friday, Garrett drove to Baton Rouge for LSU’s Bayou Splash recruiting event, where he was joined by some of the top targets on LSU’s radar.

After his visit to LSU, he got back in the car to drive to Auburn, where he will visit the (Auburn) Tigers on Saturday.

Now that his finalists have been finalized, Garrett confirmed that a commitment will be forthcoming and a decision will likely be made next week.

At the moment LSU is trending for his services following a helpful visit to Baton Rouge for the Bayou Splash event.

Garrett is an elite linebacker who could flourish under defensive coordinator Blake Baker’s system. There will be a need for linebackers in the 2026 cycle as the Tigers look to ramp up the pressure on Garrett.

LSU currently has two 2026 commitments, but after a busy weekend on the recruiting front, we could see more growth sooner rather than later.

All indications are that Garrett will join the class.

Mike Tyler: coveted tight end (2026)

South Carolina native Mike Tyler traveled to Baton Rouge on Thursday to pre-register with the LSU Tigers for their Bayou Splash recruiting event.

Several East Coast programs are pushing for a commitment from the three-star tight end, with Brian Kelly and the LSU staff set to make a move in June.

After a stellar performance at LSU Elite Camp, the Tigers are putting even more pressure on the coveted tight end.

Now he’s firmly on LSU’s radar, hoping they can hire him as soon as possible.

The Tigers currently have four-star tight end J.D. LaFleur, the top tight end in Louisiana, on contract but hope to field a crop of two tight ends in the 2025 cycle.

Tyler is the player they fully committed to and the program is currently moving in the right direction after another productive visit to Baton Rouge.

Tyler currently holds offers from over 20 programs, including LSU, Ole Miss, South Carolina and Wake Forest.

LSU is moving on to the Columbia, South Carolina native despite already having a commitment from Louisiana’s top tight end, J.D. LaFleur. The goal is to have a two-legged tight end class in 2025, with Tyler rounding out the haul along with LaFleur.
