2 teens injured after ‘large gathering’ in Aurora leads to shooting

DENVER (KDVR) — Two teenagers were critically injured with gunshot wounds after a large gathering in Aurora led to an argument and a shooting early Saturday morning, police said.

Aurora police reported that officers were called to a shooting in the 800 block of South Naples Way just after midnight.


There were reports that “a large group of people” took to the streets and a fight broke out.

According to police, the argument escalated and shots were fired.

A teenage boy was found with a serious gunshot wound and taken to a local hospital.

Shortly after, a second boy arrived at a local hospital, also suffering from a serious gunshot wound.

According to police, officers found a juvenile male at the scene with a weapon. He was arrested, but his involvement in the shooting was unknown.

The investigation is still ongoing.
