Woman charged with robbery, attempted murder after 85-year-old is hit by car in Benton | The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

A woman has been arrested on suspicion of multiple crimes, including attempted murder, after police investigating a reported robbery in Benton found an 85-year-old man run over by a car Saturday morning.

In addition to the attempted murder charge, Brittany Johnson, 32, of Hot Springs, is also charged with aggravated robbery, theft, terroristic threats, unauthorized use of another person’s property to facilitate certain crimes and two counts of criminal damage, according to a news release from the Benton Police Department.

Police found the victim, whose name was not included in the news release, after responding to a report of an armed robbery with an injured victim around midnight in the area of ​​Arkansas 5 and Kenwood Road, near Interstate 30.

The victim was taken for medical treatment and is in stable condition, the press release said.
