Benton woman charged with attempted murder after attempting to run over minor, police say | The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

A woman was arrested Friday night on suspicion of attempted murder after police say she tried to run over a minor who hit her car in the parking lot of a Home Depot in Benton.

Daisha McCuien, 24, of Benton is charged with one count of attempted first-degree murder, four counts of aggravated assault, one count of assault, four counts of endangering the welfare of a minor and one count of reckless driving, according to a news release from the Benton Police Department.

McCuien’s vehicle was struck by another vehicle in the parking lot of the store at 17060 Interstate 30, the news release said. Multiple minors were involved in the incident and McCuien’s vehicle was unoccupied at the time, the news release said.

Officers responded to the incident around 6:45 p.m. Friday. While taking statements from the parties involved, McCuien attempted to run over the driver of the vehicle that struck her vehicle, the news release said.

The victim, whose identity was not released in the press release, was taken to a hospital and is in stable condition, the press release said.
