Josh Okogie reacts to Tyus Jones joining the Phoenix Suns

On Saturday, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Tyus Jones is signing with the Phoenix Suns.

He was one of the best free agents available on the market.

Last season, Jones averaged 12.0 points, 2.7 rebounds, 7.3 assists and 1.1 steals per game while connecting on 48.9 percent of his shots and making 41.4 percent of his three-pointers in 66 games.

Via Wojnarowski: “Tyus Jones — the top remaining free agent guard on the market — has agreed to a one-year, $3.3 million contract with the Phoenix Suns, Kevin Bradbury of @liftsportsmanagement “says ESPN.”

Following the news, Suns player Josh Okogie posted a message on X that received over 900 likes in less than 90 minutes.

Okogie wrote: “Tyus in this bihhhh, I’m lit”

Okogie is coming off a season in which he averaged 4.6 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game on 41.7% shooting percentage and 30.9% from three-point line in 60 games (11 as a starter).

He was a teammate of Jones with the Minnesota Timberwolves during his rookie year in the NBA.

Many see the arrival of this player as a major asset for the Suns, who already have Kevin Durant, Bradley Beal and Devin Booker.

Via Evan Sidery: “In Tyus Jones and Monte Morris, the Suns now have the top two players in assist-to-turnover ratio on offense.

Scoring will be a lot easier for Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal as there are always two smart playmakers on the court preparing them.”

Jones also spent time with the Memphis Grizzlies (alongside the Timberwolves and Wizards).
