20-year-old man stabbed on street in White Bear Lake; police say suspect, 18, has been arrested

WHITE BEAR LAKE, Minn. — A 20-year-old man is in critical but stable condition and an 18-year-old man has been arrested following a stabbing early Saturday morning in White Bear Lake, police said.

It happened on Southwood Drive, near Hazel Street. According to a GoFundMe page, the victim’s name is Mason Fike.

A statement from one of his friends said he was stabbed at around 1 a.m. “while walking near his home.” He is being treated at St. Paul’s Regions Hospital.

Police say they will likely recommend that the Ramsey County Prosecutor’s Office charge the suspect, a White Bear Lake resident, with first-degree assault.

Fike’s GoFundMe had raised more than $25,000 as of late Saturday night.
