Hooey switches from court reporter to clerk-magistrate

(Butte, NE) — A Nebraska court reporter who previously worked at the Holt County Courthouse in O’Neill has been chosen to serve as a clerk-magistrate in both Rock and Boyd Counties. Kami Hooey’s new role involves administrative and some judicial duties, including accepting pleas in traffic and misdemeanor cases and setting bail. Hooey will report to a judge from Nebraska’s 8th District.

Hooey began her new role on July 1, replacing former clerk-magistrate Cathy Reiman, who retired after 34 years of service at the court.
