Public hearings on recreational immunity, housing

Lane County commissioners will hold a public hearing Tuesday to reconsider the land use approval for the “eco-village” Lost Valley Education Center. They will also hold public hearings on recreational immunity and roads in Lane County and on parks and housing in Springfield.

To attend: These meetings will be held in Harris Hall at 125 E. Eighth Ave., Eugene. Doors to Harris Hall will open at 8:45 a.m.

MORNING SESSION

When: 09:00 am, Tuesday, July 30.

What: The county commissioners are expected to hear public comment, vote on an employment agreement with their probation officers, hold a public hearing and vote on whether to re-approve the land use application for the Lost Valley Center, vote on the county’s priorities for the 2025 legislative session and accept a grant for the Alderwood Looped Power Transmission project planned near Junction City.

AFTERNOON SESSION

When: 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 25.

What: Public hearings are scheduled for the commissioners, where they may vote on:

  • Restoration of recreational immunity in Lane County.
  • Changes to the section of the Lane County Code describing traffic standards.
  • Approval of Willamalane’s new comprehensive park and recreation plan.
  • Allowing housing in commercial areas of Springfield.
