Morgan Wallen Scores First-Ever Number 1 on Pop Airplay Chart

Morgan Wallen’s latest chart milestone puts him in elite company, having accomplished a feat only once before by Taylor Swift.

Wallen’s duet “I Had Some Help” by Post Malone tops the list Billboard Pop Airplay charts this week, on the July 26 chart. It’s the first time Wallen has ever been No. 1 on that chart, according to a report from Billboard.

The song’s latest chart win comes after “I Had Some Help” topped the chart. Billboard Country Airplay chart last month, making Wallen and Malone’s duet one of two songs to retain the No. 1 spot on both charts. The other is Swift’s “Love Story,” which spent two weeks atop the Country Airplay chart in November 2008 and then topped the Pop Airplay chart in February 2009.

The Billboard The Country Airplay chart and the Pop Airplay chart were launched in 1990 and 1992 respectively, making “Love Story” and “I Had Some Help” two of the biggest crossover hits of the past three decades.

“I Had Some Help” is on the tracklist of Malone’s highly anticipated country album, F-1 trillion, which will be released on August 16.

Which Other Stars Will Appear on Post Malone’s Country Album?

Ahead of the release date, Malone has already released a number of instantly killer tracks, including collaborations with Blake Shelton and Luke Combs.

Earlier this week, a Target pre-order page for the album reportedly leaked the full tracklist, revealing a massive list of collaborators. Among them are Dolly Parton, Lainey Wilson, Hardy, Brad Paisley, Jelly Roll, Tim McGraw, Chris Stapleton, Hank Williams Jr., and more.

This week was also a first for the Billboard Country and Pop Airplay charts, as the two charts shared multiple Top 5 hits simultaneously for the first time. One was “I Had Some Help”; the other was Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy).”
