Fort Wayne United U19, U16 fall short at USYS national title games

ORLANDO, Fla. (WANE) – Fort Wayne United’s magical run to the U.S. Youth Soccer (USYS) National Championship game came up one win short of the ultimate prize. Both the U19 and U16 girls’ teams lost in their national title games on Sunday.

In the U16 match, Fort Wayne United could not overcome a slow start in a 4-2 loss to SABR – Team Boca. The U19 girls team lost their match 2-1 to Michigan Rangers.

Despite finishing second nationally, Fort Wayne United club teams made history this summer by becoming the first club teams from the Summit City to reach the USYS National Tournament.
