The commentators

Steve Sands, Grant Boone and Tom Abbott provide live commentary. Abbott returns for his third stint as hole announcer at the NBC Olympics, having served in the same role at the 2016 Rio Olympics and the 2021 Tokyo Olympics. That’s not all; Abbott has also been a fixture at GOLF Channel since 2005, ever since he began working as a hole announcer and play-by-play host for the LPGA Tour, PGA TOUR and major events.

Grant Boone is making his Olympic debut on NBC Sports, where he will serve as a play-by-play announcer. The amazing thing is that he has over 20 years of experience in the field! He currently works for Golf Channel’s LPGA Tour tournament coverage.

And last but not least, Steve Sands. Sands is working with NBC Olympics for the fifth time. He has covered golf at the Olympics twice before, starting in Rio in 2016. He has also covered speed skating at the Sochi and PyeongChang Olympics. This experienced trio brings the action to life for the viewers, describing every shot and dramatic moment.

The reporters

All reporting is provided by John Wood, Karen Stupples and Rex Hoggard. Wood has had quite the journey in the golf world. In his three years with NBC, this is the first time he’s reporting live from the golf course. Before joining NBC in 2021, Wood spent more than 20 years as a caddie on the PGA Tour; he even helped Matt Kuchar win a bronze medal at the 2016 Olympics!

The 2004 AIG Women’s Open winner Karen Stupples is back for her third time at the NBC Olympics! Stupples Stupples worked as an analyst for the 2016 and 2021 Olympics and is working as a reporter this year. She has extensive experience working with the Golf Channel in 2013 and reporting on LPGA Tour events.

Rex Hoggard is working with NBC Sports for the first time at the Olympics, covering golf. He is a veteran sports journalist and senior writer for the Golf Channel. Hoggard also has his own show! Hoggard co-hosts a popular podcast called “Rex & Lav” with Ryan Lavner, where they discuss and debate the latest golf news and topics.

The analysts and the studio hosts

The NBC team will be led by none other than eight-time PGA Tour winner Brad Faxon and three-time PGA Tour winner Johnson Wagner, who will provide expert analysis throughout the competition. While this will be his first time covering the Olympics, Faxon has previously served as an analyst for PGA Tour events and Golf Central Live From Studio news programs on GOLF Channel.

Wagner is making his Olympic debut as a tower announcer. He previously worked as an analyst and on-course reporter for the same network as Faxon. Brandel Chamblee and Paige Mackenzie will provide in-studio analysis for the men’s golf competition, with George Savaricas and Amy Rogers hosting the event. This will be Chamblee’s first Olympic assignment for NBC Sports, where she serves as a studio analyst. He joined NBC in 2003. Mackenzie’s presence in Paris will be her second Olympic coverage.

As for Rogers, who has hosted Golf Central and Golf Today on the Golf Channel and has worked as a reporter for many LPGA Tour events, she’ll also be making her debut as a studio host for NBC.
