New University of Nebraska President Dr. Jeff Gold Kicks Off Statewide Tour Monday

LINCOLN, Nebraska (Press Release) – University of Nebraska President Jeffrey P. Gold, MD, who began his new role on July 1, will begin a statewide tour Monday, visiting every corner of the state to speak with Nebraskans about the university’s future and Nebraska’s growth and competitiveness.

The five-day tour, which begins in Nebraska City and ends in Scottsbluff, includes stops in a dozen Nebraska communities and meetings with civic, business, education, agriculture, health care, philanthropy and government leaders, along with students, faculty, staff and media representatives.

According to Dr. Gold, conversations in each community will contribute to the university’s vision for the next chapter.

“This trip is dedicated to listening and learning from Nebraskans in every corner of our state about how we can work together to create a strong future,” said Dr. Gold. “I’m excited to travel across our 500-mile campus to learn more about the University of Nebraska’s impact at the state level and to hear from community members about our opportunities to build on our long history, strengthen our partnerships, and collectively continue to change lives, build the workforce, and keep Nebraska competitive and growing.”
