Medical issue prevents Tony Randazzo from refereeing Marlins-Brewers game

MILWAUKEE — Referee Tony Randazzo did not officiate the Miami Marlins-Milwaukee Brewers game Sunday afternoon due to a non-life-threatening medical issue.

The nature of Randazzo’s problem was not specified.

Randazzo was scheduled to be the first-base umpire for Sunday’s game. The Marlins-Brewers game instead had a three-man umpiring crew, with scheduled second-base umpire Alex Tosi moving to first.

Randazzo, 59, has been an MLB umpire since 1999.
