(The Hill) — The second man wounded in the attempted assassination of former President Trump has been released from a Pittsburgh hospital, a hospital group spokesperson confirmed to The Hill.

James Copenhaver, 74, was discharged from Allegheny General Hospital last Friday, a Highmark Health spokesperson told The Hill.

He was one of two spectators injured in the shooting at Trump’s July 13 campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. The other injured attendee, David “Jake” Dutch, 57, was released from Allegheny General Hospital last week, CBS News reported.

The severity of their injuries has not yet been announced.

It’s been just over two weeks since a shooting that killed a bystander, Corey Comperatore, and wounded the former president when he was hit in the ear by a bullet while giving a speech at a rally.

An online fundraiser organized by Trump and his allies in honor of Comperatore and two others injured in the shooting raised more than $6 million.

Copenhaver’s family, in a statement reported by KDKA in Butler, thanked those who cared for him last week and prayed for the other victims of the shooting.

“Jim would especially like to thank the first responders, medics and hospital staff who provided him with initial and ongoing care,” the family said in a statement released by Allegheny Health Network, per KDKA. “He is praying for a safe and speedy recovery for all of them.”

Moon Township Supervisor Al Quaye told KDKA that Copenhaver often attended board meetings.

“Jim is a super nice guy, and I couldn’t believe this had happened to him,” Quaye told the outlet.

Trump said last week that he plans to return to Butler for another campaign rally, though it is unclear when or where the rally will take place. The Secret Service, which has come under fire after the Butler rally, has urged Trump and his team not to hold outdoor rallies in the wake of the shooting.

The former president has held multiple campaign rallies since the shooting, including one in Michigan and one in North Carolina. The former president has worn a bandage over the ear where he was shot at every public appearance since the Butler rally.
