Jelly Roll & MGK Deliver Modern Version of “Take Me Home, Country Roads”

Jelly Roll has teamed up with rapper Machine Gun Kelly (MGK) to create a new version of John Denver’s famous “Take Me Home, Country Roads.”

The original song, written by Denver, Bill Danoff and Taffy Nivert Danoff, became a huge country music hit. Released in 1971, it captures the feeling of longing to return home to West Virginia.

In 1998, John Denver’s recording was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.

Now Jelly Roll and MGK have taken this classic song and put their own spin on it.

They kept the main melody and feel but added their own unique styles to create a new song titled “Lonely road.”

“Lonely Road” tells the story of a man struggling with the challenges of life. He looks back on the good times he once had, but now feels lost and alone.

“Lonely road takes me home /

To the place where it went wrong /

Where have you gone now? /

It’s been a ghost town /

And I’m still here /

All alone.”

The artists also made a music video for the track, which features the “Dead End Road” singer and MGK with their partners, Bunnie Xo and Megan Fox. Scroll down to watch it below.
