Corpus Christi Hooks press release

SPRINGFIELD, MO – Collin Price hit two home runs Sunday night to close out the Hooks’ week in the Ozarks with a 9-0 victory over the Cardinals at Hammons Field.

All players in the Corpus Christi lineup reached base and the club collected 16 hits, one less than the season average.

Price led the offense with a two-out RBI double in the first inning and hit home runs at the top of the fifth and sixth innings, his first professional multi-homer game.

Jeremy Arocho and Kenedy Corona both reached base four times, with Arocho notching a trio of RBI singles. Corona doubled twice, scored two runs and drove in another as part of his 3-for-4 day, which he capped off with a walk in the eighth inning.

Jose Fleury was one out short of qualifying for the win, with three hits and two walks over 4 2/3 scoreless innings. Fleury struck out four.

Cole McDonald struck out the only man he faced, with Joey Mancini earning the four-inning save. Corpus Christi’s pitching staff was left with 11 that night.
