‘My mouth fell open in amazement’

An Audi convertible was an easy target against this poultry force.

A wild turkey left dozens of scratches on a black sports car after the angry bird attacked the parked vehicle on a quiet Boston street earlier this month. Part of the one-sided confrontation was caught on camera.

In the viral video posted to TikTok, the turkey can be seen pecking, scratching and jumping at the black car in a bizarre 15-minute attack that may have been sparked by the animal seeing its reflection on the side of the car.

Audi owner Alicia Mastroianni initially thought someone had hit her parked car when she walked outside and saw the damage on July 15 as she was about to leave for work at Boston Children’s Hospital, WBZ News reported.

But then she saw a note on her windshield. The note was from a Good Samaritan who had filmed the strange turkey attack and wanted to make sure Mastroianni knew what had happened.

“I just watched and recorded a huge turkey attacking your car for over 15 minutes! He looks pretty scratched up. I tried to shoo him away but he ignored me,” the note reads.

When she saw the damage, she told Boston 25, “I think my jaw dropped.”

“The joke going around in my family right now is that I’ve lived in a rural farm town in Maryland my whole life and we have all kinds of animals, like deer, foxes and the occasional turkey or peacock,” Mastroianni told the station.

“I was getting ready to move to this big city and I made a list of all the things I needed to be prepared for. I can honestly tell you that a turkey attacking my car was not on the list.”

Mastroianni lives in the Brighton borough and her car was parked on the street near her home.

When she filed an insurance claim, there was actually an option to select parked car with animal abuse, she said.

According to Massachusetts Environmental Police, the turkey may have attacked her car because it saw its reflection in the car and jumped at it, WBZ reports.
