Spacestation wins HCS Atlanta Major with almost no map losses

Space station has dominated the entire HCS Atlanta Major, taking a memorable win and decimating all comers while only two cards during the tournament. On a grand stage in the Gateway Center Arena, the best HCS teams battled it out for a $250,000 prize pool, but it was Spacestation that stood out from the crowd, reaching the Grand Finals and handily defeating OpTic Gaming to secure the $100,000 prize.

Like never before

Spacestation is quickly becoming one of the best Halo teams ever – this past weekend proved that. Earlier this year, the team won the Arlington Major, defeating OpTic in the grand finals to win another $100,000 – since then, the team has also won a pair of Opens. This latest win was huge, and Spacestation was in a flow state as they closed out the grand finals against OpTic once again.

Special mention goes to SSG’s Bound and StelluR: these players have found their feet in the last series with a red-hot momentum.

The loss came as a shock to OpTic Gaming fans everywhere. In the Pool Play stage, OpTic had tied the record with SSG, but a loss to Shopify in the Champs pool pushed Team Green into the losers’ run. From there, the team swept FaZe and Pure and took revenge on Shopify, entering the GF with immense energy.

It simply wasn’t enough to beat SSG, who at that point had cracked the Champs top tier without dropping a single map.

Now all eyes are on the Salt Lake City Major, taking place next month in Utah.
