ROS defeats La Salle to claim Kadayawan Invitational

Manila, Philippines — Rain or Shine unleashed its full offensive power against reigning UAAP men’s champion De La Salle University, 138-116, to win four games of the 39th Kadayawan Invitational Basketball Tournament in the finals on Sunday night at the University of Southeastern Philippines gymnasium in Davao City.

Returning Aaron Fuller and guards Andrei Caracut and Gian Mamuyac were the driving forces behind the Elasto Painters’ tremendous offense, scoring 42 points in the first quarter and never looking back since.

Fuller was a rock for Rain or Shine, scoring 34 points and grabbing 11 rebounds.

Caracut delivered solid all-around numbers against his old school with 21 points, eight assists and three rebounds, while Mamuyac had 17.

Rising sophomore Keith Datu also scored 17 points, putting the team up 77-59 at halftime.



Rain or Shine was the best at the four-day tournament, after winning the single-round robin eliminations with victories over La Salle, Phoenix and Converge.
