Tennessee faces dangerous heat wave with temperatures above 30 degrees

Memphis, TN – Tennessee is bracing for an intense heat wave this week, with temperatures expected to reach triple digits. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Memphis has issued heat warnings for Monday, with extreme heat warnings likely for Tuesday.

According to the NWS, the heat index, which measures how warm it feels when humidity is taken into account, is expected to exceed 110 degrees in several areas, including Memphis, Jackson and Little Rock. On Monday, temperatures will feel like 109 degrees in Memphis, 106 in Little Rock and 110 in Clarksville.

The high temperatures and humidity are expected to continue throughout the week. Tuesday’s forecast calls for a heat index of 107 degrees in Memphis, 108 in Searcy and 109 in Jonesboro. Wednesday’s heat index could reach 113 degrees in Pocahontas, while Memphis will experience a heat index of 110 degrees.
