Nampa Rejoice! Another Roundabout Is Coming!

As more people move to Treasure Valley, traffic will become more congested and problematic.

Fortunately for drivers in the Nampa area, the city is taking steps to curb growth.

There’s another roundabout coming!

Whether you like them or not, roundabouts keep the flow of traffic flowing—if people know how to use them, which seems to be the biggest complaint. In some cases, some drivers seem to forget how lanes work and treat roundabouts as “one big lane.”

In other cases, we have seen drivers “hesitate” on the roundabout, causing confusion and hesitation among other drivers using the roundabout. You could argue that roundabouts can even become a source of road rage.

That said, we like to believe that the purpose of a roundabout is to keep everything moving and everyone (mostly) happy.

The City of Nampa recently announced that another roundabout is coming and will be completed by the end of November. Construction on the new roundabout at N. Franklin and E. Karcher began on Tuesday, July 23.

So, what should drivers do in the meantime? According to the City of Nampa:

Drivers are encouraged to use Northside Boulevard during construction. Local access to homes and businesses within the project site will be available throughout the project.

Look, we get it – a long road closure is a headache, but it has to be done and it’s better than adding another traffic light, right? A roundabout is the best option, right?
