Police Arrest Suspect in Kansas Bank Robbery

SHAWNEE COUNTY—Police investigating a bank robbery in Kansas have arrested a suspect.

Just before 10:30 a.m. on June 23, police responded to a reported robbery at US Bank, 719 S Kansas Avenue in Topeka, according to a news release. It was reported that a man entered the bank, indicated he had a weapon, demanded money and then fled on foot. On Saturday, police said the FBI had arrested the suspect in Texas, according to Topeka police.

The suspect was described as having light facial hair, wearing a multicolored baseball cap on backwards, a red soccer jersey with the number “7” on it, red athletic shorts and brown shoes. Police have not released his name or additional details.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to report it to the police.
