Today scattered thunderstorms and increasing tonight

LANSING, Mich. — Today will be cloudy with scattered thunderstorms. We’ll start out mostly dry and just have to contend with cloudy conditions, but by late afternoon we’ll start to see isolated thunderstorms. Later tonight, after 9 p.m., thunderstorm chances will increase and become stronger. Heavy rain is expected late tonight and will continue through Tuesday morning. Temperatures today will top out around 85°. Dew points will hover between the low 70s and high 60s, making for a muggy day.

Tuesday morning starts rainy with a chance of thunderstorms that are not expected to be serious. By late afternoon it will be dry for a few hours.

Wednesday-Friday, the chance of thunderstorms is higher as an unstable weather pattern moves through our area, but the weekend dries out.
