North Georgia Credit Union warns of phone fraud

Officials with North Georgia Credit Union recently contacted WNEG News asking them to inform citizens about recent scams involving individuals spoofing the credit union’s phone number and contacting people via phone calls, text messages and emails.

According to information from North Georgia Credit Union, the scammers pose as North Georgia Credit Union employees and ask for personal information to conduct fraudulent transactions.

Laura Williams, Vice President of NGCU, states: “It is very important that everyone remains vigilant and does not share personal information with unsolicited callers, texts or emails.”
