Birdcode Chicken Chain Officially Expands In Vernon

There’s another culinary option at Vernon’s Tri-City Plaza.

VERNON, CT — The Birdcode chicken joint opened in Vernon late last week and has added to the culinary options at the Tri-City Plaza.

Friday marked the grand opening.

Birdcode was founded by Brandi and Phil Killoran and the theme of the eatery is “a unique fast-casual dining experience with a focus on southern hospitality.”

The menu features chicken sandwiches and tenders with five “escalating heat levels” from the no-spice “country” to the “Code Breaker.”

Birdcode also features its “Comeback Sauce.”

Birdcode also features sides made in-house.

David Vorchheimer and Kyle Lynch are running the Vernon location.

Lynch, a West Hartford native, started his career in 2008 and had worked his way up from an entry-level position under Vorchheimer to director of operations for an eight-restaurant system.

“We instantly fell in love with Birdcode’s offerings and customer experience,” Vorchheimer said. “We are excited to bring Birdcode to Vernon and know that the community is equally excited to embrace its unique flavors and welcoming atmosphere.”

Birdcode took over the 2,400-square-foot space at the former papa Gino’s.

The restaurant is also currently hiring staff members.

Birdcode has also partnered with area artist Corey Pane, whose artwork will be featured prominently within the restaurant.

In addition to Vernon, Birdcode has restaurants in West Hartford and Darien and will be expanding in Canton and New Britain.
