1 dead, ejected from pickup in Saturday rollover crash south of Boise City

CIMARRON COUNTY, Okla. (KAMR/KCIT) – The Oklahoma Highway Patrol released information on a Saturday evening wreck that killed a Boise City man in Cimarron County when he was ejected from a pickup truck during a rollover.

According to officials, 21-year-old Yahir Licea was driving a 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 on Saturday just after 9 pm, traveling northbound on US-385 about 17 miles south of Boise City. After allegedly overcorrecting when approaching a curve, the pickup truck left the roadway and rolled about seven times before coming to rest on its wheels.


Officials said that Licea was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was ejected from the pickup during the rollover. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

The crash was noted as still under investigation by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
