Small call in Manchester turns into firefighting lesson for kids

MANCHESTER, CT — A minor incident earlier this month in a Manchester neighborhood led to a firefighting lesson for some young people.

The fire was on July 12 and was easily contained, officials said, but the incident did attract a number of young people who stood around to watch.

After Manchester firefighters quickly left the scene of the accident, they invited the children to take a closer look at the ladder truck.

It was well received.

“A true partnership with the community,” said one neighbor on social media. “Well done… an extra 10 to 15 minutes on a call means the world to these kids.”
