Richard Moyer Obituary – Pottstown, PA

Richard Gottshall Moyer, 79, of Biglerville, formerly of Pottstown and a longtime resident of Royersford, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 25, 2024 at his home after a valiant battle with leukemia. Richard is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Paulette Jane (Witman) Moyer, daughter Karen (Robert) Hendricks, son Kevin (Jennifer) Moyer, brother Williard G. Moyer and four grandchildren. Richard was born on September 7, 1944 in Pottstown and was a son of the late Williard C. Moyer and Marie K. (Gottshall) Moyer Becker. He was preceded in death by his sister Shirley G. Lyle. Richard graduated from Spring-Ford High School in 1962. He served in the U.S. Army in Ft. Jackson, SC and then worked as a printer for Container Corporation of America for over 43 years. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main St., Bendersville. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Biglerville, preceded by a viewing from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Burial with full military honors will follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Richard Moyer Memorial Fund, St. Paul Lutheran Church, 25 Franklin St., Biglerville, PA 17307 or the charity of their choice.
