Boo Bash returns to Opportunity Center in October

After a successful first year, the Opportunity Center of Owensboro is bringing back the Boo Bash fundraiser on October 26. The event will feature live music, a cash bar, appetizers and a costume contest.

The “spooktacular” evening, presented by Jagoe Homes and Owensboro Health, will take place from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM at their location at 3560 New Hartford Road in Owensboro.

New this year is that the organizers have booked Entice, a well-known band from Tennessee.

“They are incredible and we are so happy to have them,” said Chelsey Robison, communications manager. “Another change is our floor plan. We are making changes to the interior of our building that will result in a different layout for the event. We hope this new floor plan will be more efficient and easier for partygoers and event staff.”

Robison said they hope to build on last year’s success by improving and expanding on the things that worked well last year.

“Community support is everything to us, and we couldn’t fulfill our mission without it,” she said. “Whether it’s individual donors, volunteers, or just people spreading the word, it’s all appreciated. For example, we’ve partnered with a lot of local businesses to bring them in to teach the people we support about their craft.”

She emphasized the importance of community support and how they are always looking for volunteers. She said that community awareness is at the forefront of their efforts and that they constantly strive to share what they do and who they serve.

“Visibility and inclusion are key for the people we support,” Robison said. “We look forward to another successful Boo Bash.”
