Steamy Tuesday, storms return Tuesday night – Indianapolis News | Indiana Weather | Indiana Traffic

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Temperatures look set to reach 100° this afternoon.

This morning:

The severe weather has cleared from the area. We are keeping an eye out for a few isolated storms early this morning, as well as some scattered, dense fog in places. Any fog issues should clear by mid-morning.

Tuesday:

The daytime hours look to be dry, warm and humid, with partly cloudy skies and highs in the low 90s. High humidity will push our heat indices into the 100s. Southwestern portions of the state could see an isolated storm after 3 or 4:00 this afternoon.

Tuesday night:

Another line of storms will roll in late tonight. The zone of most severe storms appears to be southwest of Indianapolis, where there is a slight risk of severe weather. All forms of severe weather will be southwest of Indianapolis before nightfall.

Tonight the temperature will drop to around 25 degrees Celsius.

Wednesday:

Wednesday during the day we will see another round of scattered showers and thunderstorms. There is a low threat for a few strong to severe storms, with damaging winds the main concern.

Meanwhile, temperatures will likely hover around 38°C again in the afternoon.

Thursday:

Thursday will be another warm and humid day, with highs in the low 90s and heat indices between 100 and 105°. There will also be scattered thunderstorms throughout the day.

7 day forecast:

We’ll start to cool off a bit by the end of the week and into the weekend. Scattered rain looks set to continue on Friday, especially in the afternoon and evening. There’s no chance of severe weather, at least not in central Indiana, as that threat moves east on Friday. High temperatures will climb into the mid 80s. There’s only a slight chance of a few showers Saturday morning; otherwise, the weekend should be mostly dry and less humid, with highs in the mid 80s.
