Power outage leaves more than 800 people without power in Martinez

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – More than 800 Georgia Power customers were affected by a power outage early Tuesday morning.

According to Georgia Power’s outage map, 848 customers were without power near South Belair Road at 5:08 a.m.

Columbia County deputies were on scene at South Belair Road and Oakley Pirkle directing traffic at 5:15 a.m.

The sheriff’s office says they are not sure what caused the power outage at the time.

The estimated recovery time is 6:00 AM.
