Fire at Legend Rubber in Tillsonburg


More than 50 firefighters battled the fire on Highway 3 Monday morning.

TILLSONBURG — No one was injured in a fire at Legend Rubber in Tillsonburg.

The call came in around 4:30 a.m. yesterday and more than 50 firefighters battled the blaze on Highway 3. They came not only from Tillsonburg, but also from Courtland, Malahide, Aylmer, Port Burwell, Straffordville, Springfield and Elgin County.

According to a statement on Legend Fleet Solutions’ Facebook page, the fire was contained to one storage building and damage to two other buildings on the property was minimal.

Clean-up operations are said to be underway and there are hopes of resuming production later this week.
