Michigan awards $11 million in funding for those affected by disaster declarations

(Lansing, MI) – Michigan is awarding nearly $11 million to 17 counties in the Upper and Lower Peninsulas following three emergency declarations in the past 16 months. That includes funding to help those affected by rapid snowmelt in the Upper Peninsula, tornadoes and flooding in the Lower Peninsula, and tornadoes in Southwest Michigan.

The money can be used for costs associated with responding to a disaster or emergency, such as overtime for government workers, contracts, housing materials, gasoline, and repairs to public buildings and roads.
