Teen injured after accidentally shooting himself

BATON ROUGE – Police say a teenager was accidentally injured when he shot himself Tuesday morning.

The shooting happened Tuesday morning in the 2100 block of Thomas Road. Baton Rouge police said a 14-year-old was playing with a gun when it went off, wounding the teen.

It was reported that his life was not in danger.

It is not yet clear whether officers will file a complaint because the weapon was not properly stored.
