Public Campgrounds for Mo. State Fair Open August 2

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — The Missouri The State Fair public campground, sponsored by Missouri State Parks, opens at 9 a.m. Friday, August 2. The 60-acre campground is located west of the fairgrounds on Clarendon Road. Non-reserved site rentals are $45 per day, per vehicle/unit. There are approximately 95 full hook-up sites available on a first-come, first-served basis. These sites are located in the white section and offer 50-amp service. Once the approximately 95 sites are full, dry camping will be offered.

Public camping registration procedure:

• Registration for the public campsites will start at the earliest on Friday morning, August 2.
• Beginning at 7am on Friday, August 2nd, campers will be allowed to enter the grounds to line up to camp. All campers (including long term reserved camping permit holders arriving at this time) MUST enter the grounds through the Centennial Gate, or Gate 12, located on 65 Highway. This gate will remain open until 1pm. After 1pm, all campers may enter the campsites directly through the main campground entrance on Clarendon Rd.
• Permits are only issued for camping units (campers or vehicles towing a camper). Other vehicles (without a camper) that are queuing to claim a spot will not be issued a camping permit.
• You can pay with cash or credit card (Mastercard, Visa, Discover and American Express). Credit card payments are subject to a 2% plus $0.25 service charge.
• Campers must not be left unattended in the pitching area.
• The public campground will open at 9am on Friday, August 2nd and campers will be admitted in order of their permit number.
• To expedite the process, campers are encouraged to have their payment method ready and also download and complete the emergency contact form found on the fair’s website. website.

Please note: There is no early queue allowed and no early permits will be issued. In the interest of public safety, the Missouri State Fair reserves the right to open the entrance gate prior to 7:00 AM on Friday, August 2, if staff deems it necessary.
