MAG Aerospace is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to provide subject matter expertise to ensure PL SSW delivers critical intelligence and electronic warfare capabilities. This role is to support ongoing and future prototyping efforts.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly growing team in the early stages of a recently awarded 5-year contract with multiple opportunities for upward promotion in support of EW&C. The EW&C program delivers critical capabilities to counter current and future threats, enabling next generation warfare capabilities from sensor to soldier worldwide. By applying breakthrough cyber technologies through an agile development methodology, we enable battlefield dominance for our Warfighters.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

  • Work with intelligence and electronic warfare analysts to characterize adversaries’ electronic battle orders. This includes specific analysis of threat radar systems and the Blue Force system’s ability to detect and intercept a particular set of threats.
  • Performing analyses, subsystem analyses, architecture/subsystem decomposition, requirements and algorithm design, implementation, integration, verification and maintenance of ground-based ELINT and EW systems.
  • Research and implement advanced processing technologies specifically tailored for RF data processing applications.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities to improve use cases, CONOPS, CONEMP, and TTPs.
  • Collaborate on algorithmic design and machine learning frameworks, including classification and identification techniques.
  • Ability to independently manage and pace responsibilities to ensure all required activities are completed in a timely manner.
  • Devises new concepts and approaches to solve technical problems.
  • Identifies existing or potential problems and provides technical advice and guidance and/or determines a course of action to resolve technical problems.
  • Coordinate and support all aspects of EW activities including planning, collection, processing, analysis, dissemination, and reporting related to PL SSW products.
  • Work with a team of engineers, analysts, and operators to ensure efficient and accurate intelligence production.
  • Conduct technical analyses of foreign threat systems and develop countermeasures in collaboration with PL SSW’s prime contractors and subcontractors.
  • Provide expert guidance and training to team members and vendors on emerging technologies and methodologies.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and developments in EW technologies.
  • Assist in the effective management of the technical resources required to achieve operational objectives.
  • Other tasks may also be assigned.

Requirements

Knowledge and skills

  • Expertise in electronic warfare systems and operations, including jamming, deception, and exploitation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to represent PL SSW at industry events and conferences.
  • Ability to translate the Army Capability Manager’s requirements into actionable goals and system requirements necessary to develop effective collection strategies.
  • Demonstrated experience in overseeing the design, implementation and maintenance of databases and software applications for EW activities.
  • Experience developing presentations for support activities and/or higher headquarters to summarize results of actions against predetermined plans, current status or plans, progress, deficiencies, and outstanding performance.
  • Experience in performing analysis, subsystem analysis, architecture/subsystem decomposition, requirements and algorithm design, implementation, integration, verification and maintenance of ground-based ELINT and EW systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of ELINT systems and subsystems to develop system and subsystem specifications necessary to meet performance metrics against a given set of threat signals of interest.
  • Knowledge of supporting technologies including pulse detectors, de-interleaving, pulse descriptor word generation, and spectrum survey strategies related to counter-radar operations.
  • Understands and can follow development procedures such as source code control, change management, and release planning for algorithms or other necessary software developments related to government research.

Clearance

Education and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or other technical discipline
  • Minimum 5 years experience in electronic warfare.

Desired qualifications

  • Knowledge of X-Midas, MATLAB, Python and other relevant software tools.
  • Experience with GEOINT, MASINT, exploitation, modeling and simulation of technical signals.
  • Expertise in geolocation, intelligence reporting and commonly used analytics tools.
  • Experience with JEL, JICD4.2, remote ops and system integration.
  • Demonstrable ability to develop and implement innovative solutions.
  • Experience with government and military customers.
  • Preference for an MS or Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering or a similar field.
  • TS/SCI DoD Security Clearance

Other qualifications

  • Opportunity to travel 25% to military and contract locations within CONUS.
  • Ability to work in office/field/lab environments
